Formula

Aid cost = production × dosage ÷ 1,000 × price. Benefit = energy saving × production × electricity price + extra saleable tonnes × contribution. Treatment cost return = net benefit ÷ annual aid cost × 100%. This is a return on recurring treatment cost, not a capital-investment ROI or payback calculation. If aid cost is zero, the percentage is undefined.

Important boundary

Only include extra-output contribution when the market can sell the additional cement and fixed constraints permit it. Avoid double counting the same benefit in energy and throughput inputs. Extra-tonne contribution must exclude all incremental costs, including grinding aid for that extra output; the separate aid-cost line covers baseline tonnes only. Example defaults are illustrative, not a performance prediction.

It provides a consistent first comparison. For a final case, use actual treated tonnage.

What is contribution per extra tonne?

Selling price minus all variable costs attributable to the additional tonne, including its grinding-aid cost; it is not total revenue.

What does a negative ROI mean?

The entered annual benefits are smaller than the grinding-aid cost under those assumptions.
